i'm 49 my vision is fine i guess but on and off i get blurred vision when i get off my ipad.....not so regularly used. does this mean i need glasses?

Presbyopia: Presbyopia is typical age-related blurring of near vision.  During our lifetime, we gradually lose the ability to accommodate when we look at objects close by.  When it becomes symptomatic enough, then we often need reading glasses.  This tends to gradually worsen as we get older.

can you correct blurred vision without glasses?

Accepted Answer

Possibly: Visual blur comes about from many causes including a need for eyeglasses.  Curing one of the other causes will restore clear vision.  You can also wear contacts or have lasik surgery.  There is no medical treatment which will correct a need for eyeglasses.

my son is 5, and got new glasses for a stigmatisism, we got 2 opinions( the same), been wearing 2 weeks and now complaining of blurry vision.normal?

Accepted Answer

No: Children who need glasses usually wear them.  Take the child and the glasses back to where you got the and ask for a recheck.

Yes: If you are looking in the distance through the glasses.  If you have blurred vision in the distance when you look around the reading glasses, the glasses prescription is incorrect.

Accepted Answer

Depends: This really depends on how strong your prescription is and on how accurately it is ground into your glasses. It is not uncommon with very strong prescriptions especially when they are different In each eye to not see as well  from the edge of the glasses as from the middle.

To wear them: For normal activity will make the vision blurry with them on, but will not affect the eyes after you take them off.

Common hope: For many years it has been the hope that eye power (need for glasses) can be eliminated by some "natural" method.  A great deal of money has been spent promoting these fradulent methods.  Discuss with your ophthalmologist how to make computer use more comfortable.

When was the: last time you had a comprehensive Ophthalmologic  examination?That is very important. Using cheaters isn't the answer - eval is. Take care.

See Ophthalmologist: You need to be rechecked for glasses, but more importantly, you need a dilated eye examination to rule out anything serious.

Blurry vision?: Get yourself a good eye exam by an ophthalmologist. Have a complete exam not just for visual acuity. There are many possible disorders of the eye and you want to make sure none are being missed.
