Yes : A deficiency in the enzyme glutamate dehydrogenase (which converts ammonia  to glutamate ) will result in accumulation of ammonia in the body and its excretion in the stool

i was told today by a pharmacist that two of the anticonvulsants i have been taking for 20 years can interact with each other and cause excess buildup of ammonia and potential brain swelling. i take dilantin, depakote, and topomax. thank you?

: Needs to be put into perspective.  Both Dilantin, and Depakote, could theoretically cause liver damage (rather uncommon event) and this could result in high ammonia.  Not clear to me, if you truly require 3 anti-epileptic drugs, and you might consider modification.  Talk to your neurologist about your future medication usage, as this depends upon seizure frequency, co-morbidities, etc.

Not sure: I suppose you mean pneumonia, not ammonia, as pneumonia is a common lung disease, whereas ammonia is a blood waste product. Pneumonia may be treated and cured or may cause complications such as respiratory failure and result in death or complications such as lung abscess, effusion, sepsis etc. It depends on the bug that caused it, the immune response of the host etc.

An : An elevated blood ammonia level is usually due to liver failure.  High blood ammonia levels can cause serious symptoms including severe confusion and even coma.  Patients with severe liver problems can also have kidney failure as well due to the so-called hepatorenal syndrome.

Yes: If this is an accurate ammonia level, you might perhaps even have a mild urea cycle enzyme defect. If you feel well, i'd not be immediately concerned about your liver unless there are other lab abnormalities.

Need more info: You really must talk over this symptom with the physician who did your pap smears. Something is not right that needs to be corrected.

This is my advice to: My advice to you is not to think of worst possible causes for your chest pain, like you have listed here.
You do not have breast Cancer or heart problems at this young age.
If the pain is persistent after 2-3 weeks, you should go see your doctor and have him/her check you with a complete physical examination. If there is any serious concern, he/she may order some tests to make a proper diagnosis.
