Why not gaining lbs?: A rule of thumb--to gain 1 pound eat 3000 calories more than your body normally burns.  A bigger question is why are you having difficulty gaining weight?  Have you explored with your doctor the possibility of undernutrition,  hyperthyroidism, malabsorption and maldigestion, infection, altered GI tract function, eating disorders, inflammatory conditions, and malignancy?  Pursue evaluation please.

STEROIDS???: I question taking any steroids...short term effect may impress, but long term side effects and potential health issues may not be the best answers.  How about a personal trainer and find out the right exercises and the right nutrition to help you reach your goals.

missed 4 doses of provera (medroxyprogesterone). took it to stop bleeding.  i restarted (aiming to take the 10) what should i look out for?

Nothing particular: Stopping bleeding is the goal.  If u missed some pills it is of little significance unless u are anemic and kept bleeding; just resume tem, when u stop hopefully you will have an orderly bleed, shedding of the uterine lining; this may be a good cance to start the pill once u have withdrawel bleed.  Good luck.
