Home remedy for hive: Anything that relieves itching can help since hives by definition are self limited. Try moisture creams and cool  baths. Avoid scratching. Creams containing menthol eucalyptus or anesthetics can help. However why not use one of the effective 2nd generation antihistamines available otc?  Cetirizine fexofenadine or loratadine. If hives are painful, scarring or last >24 hrs seek out an allergist.
