It: Will not stop the Herpes from coming back nor does it work for Herpes. Recurrence of Herpes can be decreased by using Acyclovir orally and higher dose for exacerbations.Topical Acyclovir or Abreva can be used locally to speed up healing

Not an STD, harmless: Angiokeratoma is not an STD and has nothing to do with sex. (The large majority of skin problems of the genital area are not STDs.) Antiokeratomas may recur, but it's not a serious health problem. Discuss it with your doctor if you remain concerned.

Make : Make sure you both are tested for hsv type 1 and 2. It was previously thought that type 1 was only localzed to the mouth and type 2 to the genitals, but that is not correct. Also consider the fact that your gilrfriend already carried the virus and you did not give it to her by giving her oral sex.

Common problem: It's now believed that up to one in five adults have contracted genital herpes and 90% of adults have the blood factors from a cold sore type herpes infection. You should learn about how the virus spreads, the signs and symptoms and various treatments. Many long time couples have avoided infecting partners by taking precautions. Talk to your gyn.

i got tested for genital herpes and the test came back negative, the gyno says that she doesn't believe the test was correct. what should i assume?

Repeat test: Viral culture? Blood test? Blood test for acute (igm) or chronic/old infection (igg).  If culture, was it taken from the correct location, i.e. Lesion?  If blood test, can take some time to develop antibody response to acute infection  (igm) test.  If still in doubt, repeat the test.  Igg becomes positive weeks to months after acute infection, stays positive as "footprint" of prior infection.

Genital herpes: New herpes symptoms usually start 3-5 days after exposure, on rare occasions up to 2-3 weeks. It is very common for the first recognized herpes outbreak to actually be a recurrent outbreak of a longstanding infeciton that previously caused no symptoms. Make sure the virus is typed: it is very important to know whether HSV1 or 2. Genital HSV2 recurs often, HSV1 outbreaks usually uncommon.
