Hydrate: Orthostatic hypotension means a lowering of the blood pressure when standing upright.  Assuming a teenager is normal and otherwise healthy, the best way to lessen this issue is to remain well hydrated and stand up more slowly to give the body a chance to accommodate.

Orthostatic Hypotnsn: Orthostatic hypotension can stem from med side effects (antihypertensives, diuretics), endocrine disease (adrenocortical insufficiency, pheochromocytoma), hypovolemia, and electrolyte disturbances. Hypotension in reflex syncope including vasovagal syncope, neurocardiogenic syncope, and many conds. Electrolyte imbalance is a consideration. I'm just providing information not advice-See your doc

It is a good idea to: have a general doctor at your age but treatment of orthostatic hypotension  in the absence of disabling symptoms is primarily through diet (increased salt intake and good hydration) and use of support stockings. Your doctor might reassure you or refer you to an Electrophysiologist with more experience and question answering ability.

i have been having severe dizziness and lightheadedness upon standing. i think its orthostatic hypotension but normally that goes away quickly but mine continues until i sit down. it can continue as long as im walking/standing. what can this be?

: Even if it is Orthostatic Hypotension the persistence with routine activities require medical evaluation. The PCP and Cardiologist/ Vascular Disease Consults should be on one's to do list for resolution.
