Spironolactone: Spironolactone is used to treat many different disorders, from high blood pressure to fluid retention. Although the U.S. Food and drug administration doesn't recognize spironolactone as an acne treatment, it is often prescribed off-label to treat hormonally influenced breakout in women.
This medication isn't a first line of defense against acne breakouts. It is only effective for hormonal acne.

24 year woman. never had acne. 3 months ago acne appeared (11 pimples) took 100 mg minocycline a day for a month.. they went away fast! stopped 5 days ago and 3 pimples already!! why? scared. causes?

The bacteria!: The bacteria in the pores of your skin which secrete the oil (sebum) are called Corynebacterium Acne. They are killed by drugs in tetracycline class of antibiotics. Minocycline is one such drug taken q12 hrs. And it worked for you. Then you stopped it and it quickly recurred.

Can vary: You cannot control who you are.  However what you can do is help your skin by getting your acne under control.  Try to wash face 3x/day with mild soap.  Use OTC topical benzoyl peroxide and if you need more see the Dermatologist.

No: Enough for now, kindly see an experienced dermatologist. Using steroids, even hydrocotisone 1%,  for extended periods especially on face isn't recommended unless under medical supervision, local side effects are plenty, some are hardly reversible, just be cautious

i am a 45 year old female that is experiencing severe cystic acne on my chin with acne on my forehead. labs show low testosterone with normal estrogen and progesterone. will testosterone help or cause more acne.

I : I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your skin.  Usually, higher levels of hormones (either male or female) leads to acne, not lower levels.  In fact, higher levels of testosterone are usually assoicated with significan acne.  I would suggest a skin analysis with photoimaging (such as a visia) and a pharmaceutical grade skin care regimine designed towards your issues.

P.I.H. : Postinflammatory hyperpigmentation (pih) is a frequently encountered problem particularly in darker pigmented individuals including african americans or asians. Pih occurs as a result of inflammation to skin. Acne is common inflammatory diseases that results in pih, particularly if one picks at their lesions. Hope this helps.

Because you're human: I was able to stop taking my acne meds at around age 50. Hang in there. You'll recover eventually and it can be managed.

Unusual!: Acne is common in newborns and adolescents and teens . I would have the child seen by a pediatrician first , sometimes medications and other times hormonal problem can cause acne. First make sure it is not something else. It may not be acne.

Acne: No, not necessarily. How long your skin will have frequent breakouts is not possible to predict. Why are you anusol? steroid creams are not a treatment for acne and I don't see any other conditions listed to justify chronic use of this medication. Whats important is to treat acne as it occurs to minimize inflammation, scarring and pigmentation.
