Repeat test: Or ask for blood test. Sometimes tests are a little delayed in turning positive....

Late or early period: or spotting between periods is common from time to time even among women with regular periods.  Ovulation tests predict the level of reproductive hormones necessary for ovulation (your fertile period) but they don't confirm that ovulation or conception has actually occurred.  I recommend you talk to your gyro who, depending on your circumstances, might Rx a contraceptive that regulates your cycle.

Potentially: Reasons for missed / late period include: an anovulatory cycle in which no egg is released, marked v or ^ in weight; eating disorder; Over-exercising (endurance athletics), stress, travel, significant illnesses, oral contraceptives &amp; other meds, Illegal drug use, breast feeding, hormone imbalances and medical problems (i.e., PCOS). Pregnancy is #1 reason.

That brown discharge: might actually be your period. Reasons for missed /late periods: low body weight, obesity, marked weight gain/loss, over-exercise such as in endurance athletes, breast-feeding, stress, illness, eating disorders (bulimia or anorexia), travel, hormone irregularities, drug use, medications (i.e., birth control) or med problem (polycystic ovary syndrome or Asherman’s syndrome. #1 reason is pregnancy.

Non-ovulatory cycle: The most likely reason is you didn't ovulate in your last cycle,  or that it was a late ovulation, but there's a long list of other possibilities. This is usually not to worry about, and you might wait a little longer to see when the next period starts. A doctor should be able to help you start sorting through the list.

Did you go off of: Levothyroxin because your condition had normalized?  Reasons for missed/late periods: low body weight, obesity, marked weight ^ or v, over-exercise, endurance athletics, breast-feeding, ^ stress, illness, eating disorders (bulimia or anorexia), anovulatory cycle (no egg released), travel, hormone irregularities, drug use, meds (i.e., birth control) or medical problems. #1 reason is pregnancy.

my last menstrual cycle was 12/01/21-12/06/21. i am on the mini pull. had unprotected sex 12/17/21 and took plan b 18 hours later. im 3 weeks out today with late period but negative test. when can i be considered in the clear of being pregnant?

: A home test would be positive now if you conceived from intercourse 12/17. If you take the mini-pill consistently you have good protection but unpredictable periods. Also the Plan B (besides erring on the side of excessive caution) could further disrupt them.

Trust the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctor's office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.
