what can cause hair loss in women. i have a ths of .17 getting another blood test in 2 weeks if it is still low doctor will be putting me on medication. hair loss? also weaning off klonopin hair loss? was on long term prednisone hair loss? pleas help?

: Hair loss could be a symptom of hyperthyroidism so your thyroid function status should be rechecked then treatment may be beneficial for your hair condition. Hair loss is not a symptom of klonopin withdrawal syndrome. The systemic condition which has been treated with long term prednisone could be contributory. You have significant medical history so please patiently follow your doctor. Take care.

i am weaning off klonopin and have lupus. i have had a severe headache for a week. my temples, eyes, the region below the ears and the back of head hurt. i have never had this before and it worsens in light. should i see a doctor or wait for it to pass?

Lupus headaches: People who have systemic lupus can develop headaches that can mimic migraines but dont respond to migraine meds. Consult your doctor. You may have to go on steroids to relieve your headaches.

Yes: Yes, you should be; the dose you indicated is very negligible. Don' be afraid to stop. On the other hand, if you are experiencing anxiety you may benefit from psychologist's intervention. You may consider cbt - cognitive-behavioral therapy that often times effective and help to avoid use of medications.

Yes: Withdrawal from benzodiazepines ( which includes Klonopin ) can result in headaches. Because Klonopin is long acting, it is usually easier to wean off than the short acting ones such as xanax (alprazolam). This is best under a doctor's supervison.

Too fast: Your doctor weaned too quickally.  Try a longer slower taper....may on the order of an entire month.

she told me to use zyprexa 5mg during the day and 5mg at night?

You will be ok: You are under the care of a physician who is changing your medications, not stopping them. While these meds are different classes, they both will decrease anxiety. Sometimes your body ‘adjusts’ to one med and it becomes less effective or requires a bigger dose.  This way your doc is helping keep you in good control, safely.

Klonopin:  You haven't given us any idea of how long you have been on Klonopin or what your does has been. Please ask your medical provider to provide you a schedule for a downward taper. If you have been on Klonopin for a lengthy period, the taper should not be too rapid. Please taper under medical guidance.

Can be!: Klonipin is clonazepam, so your exact schedule isn't clear. But most important: changes like this need to be carefully supervised by a psychiatrist. He or she will be able to guide the process. There can be withdrawal effects, especially from benzodiazepines like k(c). And, yes, they can be dangerous. Speak to your md right away.
