GERD or gallstones: This is a somewhat common presentation of either gastroesophageal reflux disease or heartburn. Other possibilities include gallstones or peptic ulcers disease. You should see your doctor for further evaluation.

Uncertain: Plastic bottles can contain BPA which are aromatic compounds that can potentially promote DNA damage and theoretically raise cancer risk, although this is hard to quantify.  While any kind of cancer has environmental and genetic components, there is no direct evidence that reusing water bottles will cause breast cancer.   If you have anxiety about this, consider using glass bottles.

Water cap : You should go to the emergency room. This may be no emergency but needs to be observed for now. Most (80 to 90 percent) ingested foreign bodies pass without the need for intervention. Endoscopic intervention is required in 10 to 20 percent of patients, and surgical intervention is required in less than 1 percent

The esophagus is the most frequent site of obstruction.

See doctor: fluid from the breast could mean infection or hormonal imbalance. If no infection is present a simple blood test can determine if your body is improperly producing an excess of the hormones involved in milk production or letdown. Sometimes cysts near the nipple can also produce this effect

Accepted Answer

Breast : Breast milk provides everything a baby needs in the first 6 months to a year of life.  Babies do not need extra water.  In fact, young babies' kidneys are immature and cannot regulate the blood's sodium levels appropriately if given too much of anything besides breast milk or formula.  Giving too much water can actually lead to seizures.  If your baby is constipated, there are a few things you can do.

1.) give pear or prune juice - 1oz/age in months/day so in your case, no more than 1 oz per day. Not only does prune or pear juice have sugar which can help soften bms, but also has fiber (notice the gritty texture when you drink it?). This does not mean that you should be feeding your baby juice as a part of his regular diet, but it's ok in daily small amounts to treat constipation.

2.) if juice does not work, then you can try a glycerine suppository which you can buy over the counter. Just cut a pea-sized piece of the glycerine and place it in the baby's anus to lubricate the hard stool. This is not meant for daily use, so if you find that your baby needs a suppository in order to have a bm despite dietary changes, discuss with your child's doctor.

3.) do not use mineral oil, laxatives or enemas. These methods are not safe for infants.

4.) finally, if constipation is persistent and not improved with any of the above recommendations, be sure to contact your baby's doctor. There are some very rare underlying disorders such as hirschprung's disease, cystic fibrosis or hypothyroidism that can cause chronic constipation.

Yes: I would expect fluid retention to manifest in other areas as opposed to only the breasts but this is certainly possible.

is it safe to give my 5 months baby some solids? i gave her some apple puree and she is on both breast feeding and formula(nan) but solids caused constipation. what can i do to help her? can i give her 5ml water per meal?

Safe or advised ?: Many infants grew up with early (weeks) solid feeds decades ago when families didn't breast feed &amp; made their own formula. Today with breast feeding &amp; balanced formulas we prefer to wait until they sit &amp; the tongue thrust fades ~ 6 mo. BM or formula has all the fluid they need.

i have a clear water frm one of my breasts when i squeeze ?

Breast discharge: May be early signs of pregnancy or breast lesion. check HCG, follow up with doctor you need a mammogram/ ultrasound just to make sure nothing is wrong, Discharge is not normal  unless you are pregnant or nursing
