Bleeding diathesis: If you are having bleeding from multiple orifices, need to rule out  problem in the normal clotting mechanism. You need some blood work to find out the deficiency. Start with your primary care physician and if necessary you will be referred out to specialists.

Yes: In cases where the blood count is very low, or if brisk active bleeding is occurring, it is often necessary to transfuse blood before or during an endoscopy.  The goal is to make the patient as stable as possible until the bleeding site can be found and stopped. Good luck.

Multiple: Esophageal tears and erosions, gerd, stomach ulcers, including cancer, varices at the junction of stomach and esophagus, aspirin, bleeding abnormalities, duodenal ulcers, rarely abdominal aortic aneurysm rupurting into GI tract.

Go to ER: Coffee ground emesis(vomit) suggests that there is bleeding in the esophagus, stomach or upper small intestine.  The reasons are multifactorial  and require an exam.  It could be serious, depending on the amount and source of bleeding.  Don't delay-take your child in now.

Blood in vomit: Not necessarily. With violent vomiting or repeated vomiting, you can have irritation of the lining of the esophagus and blood in  vomitus. If you have continued blood in the vomit, or black stools, then you should be evaluated.

Need to see doc : Vomiting blood is a very serious problem. You need to be seen by a doctor right away. Vomiting blood is not likely to be related to an ovarian cyst which is another problem that will need to be addressed after the urgent problem of vomiting blood.

Start simple: Your dr or an urgent care dr can diagnose and treat most cases of heartburn. Ones that fail to improve get referred to a GI dr, but most do ok on h2 blockers or ppis with occasional antacid (tums/mylanta) for breakthrough pain.

Need to be seen: call your doctor or go back to the hospital, you may have severe gastritis , inflammation of your stomach lining, meanwhile, clear fluids , antacids and PPI (eg Prilosec), wish you well

Yes: If you have hyperemesis gravidarum and throw up violently and frequently it can be a reason. But blood in vomit is always a concern- see your obgyn they will check it and make an appropriate referral if needed.
