is there any connection between the vitiligo and thyroid disorders?

Both are autoimmune: Both hypothyroidism and vitiligo are autoimmune conditions, caused by antibodies.  In the case of hypothyroidism they cause inflammation in the thyroid and subsequent hypo activity; in vitiligo they cause lack of skin pigmentation.

i have vitiligo and reduced thyroid function. recently i developed a peptic ulcer. will protein pump inhibitors have negative affects on my thyroid?

No: But chronic PPI use may have its own set of side effects. At the minimum, you will need to take magnesium supplement since PPI use decreases its absorption.

Vitiligo: Thyroid dysfunction is often caused by an auto- immune disorder called hashimotos disease. It causes inflammation and often hypothyroidism. Vitiligo is also an auto- immune disorder affecting skin pigment. Many autoimmune disorders travel together so one may have both conditions.

i have vitiligo on say 30% of my body & have a thyroid antibody level of 472 and would like to know if you would medicate on levothyroxine?

Maybe: I would use thyroid replacement  only if the TSH is elevated (>3).

Skin spot: Without seeing it, it's hard to tell what it is. You are welcome to send a pic over for us to see. 
Vitiligo usually gets worse with time, although, limited forms probably exist as well.

Vitiligo: Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease affecting the melanin (skin pigment in cells) and leading to un-tanned areas of skin. You can seek a dermatologist but you can also try concealer type make-ups. Whether a man or a woman, these make-ups can be useful. Look for a hypoallergenic variety.

Could be: Probably not because the patches are usually larger.
