See a dermatologist: It is difficult to make a proper diagnosis since I am not there to see the condition. I recommend seeing a dermatologist so that they can make a proper diagnosis and give you something to get rid of the condition or relieve symptoms.

i had tiny brown spots appear on my right hand seemingly overnight. there is no pain or itching. i am breastfeeding; could this be vitamin deficiency?

Accepted Answer

Probably not: Since breastfeeding moms have been, and usually still are, taking prenatal vitamins or once-a-day multivitamins, having vitamin deficiencies  to the point of actually getting symptoms are unlikely. If there are any other symptoms present, a primary care doctor can evaluate the rash and other symptoms.

hi doctor, the finger hand nails of my 11years old daughter have lines and nails almost turning brownish. she is not sick.what is the cause? can that be a vitamin deficiency maybe? is there anything to be concerned about?

Fungal infection: I would recommend seeing your physician, there are a number of possible conditions which may discolor the nails. Among these are infections, pigmentation and a number of syndromes. 
A well balanced diet and use of bottled water is suggested until evaluated.
A photo for the physician may help to determine the cause.

Vitamin deficiency: Yes, consider a and d deficiency as the likely culprit, however, some minerals also could be the cause, as well as metabolic disease.

Workout Shoes: may be putting pressure on this toe.  If it were a vitamin deficiency you would likely have it on both sides, and you are young for that unless you drink alcohol.  I would certainly try a larger pair of shoes before doing a lot of tests, unless of course you are having other symptoms.  Ask the doctor what specific vitamin s/he thinks you are deficient in, and research it!

Toenails: I don't know of a link between nail bed issues and hair loss.
However I think it is important for you to have your doctor refer you to podiatrist (foot doctor) while your doctor is looking into you hair loss.

Pain: Have you checked your serum iron, ferritin, iron biding capacity, and percentage saturation? You may have iron deficiency that may cause restless leg syndrome.

as per my doc, h pylori causes formation  of undigested food which causes demyelination of nerves & vitamin deficiency & numbness n tingling. pls advc?

Contentious: I'm not a focused expert on this, but from my reading I am not ready to tell anyone that helicobacter infestation causes demyelination, neuropathy, multiple sclerosis or vitamin deficiency. Perhaps i misunderstood, but I do know the "pop" claims. May i ask the help of my healthtap colleagues & also suggest that you are right to be skeptical and to seek another opinion? Best wishes.
