Yes, should be okay: Most benzodiazepine anti-anxiety medications should be okay with pindolol, as long as your doctor is prescribing and monitoring them.  If an antidepressant is being considered for antianxiety, it would need to be reviewed for possible accumulative effects on your cardiovascular system.  There are different types with different side effect profiles.

See below: Although there are no drug interactions listed for Pindolol & ethanol (drinking alcohol), it is never a good idea to mix medications with alcohol. Take all meds with full glass of water to be sure the med gets into the stomach (some can be very irritating to esophagus). Alcohol & beta blockers (pindolol) can irritate stomach or worsen acid reflux.

Heart rate: These are both beta blockers, so the switch over should be pretty smooth.  Because pindolol has intrinsic sympathomimetic activity, it will likely not lower your heart rate as much, and your heart rate with exercise will not be as blunted.

is pindolol safe with a low heart rate?

Maybe not: If heart rate is already less than 60, and a beta blocker (pindolol) is to be added, then heart rate willbe further lowered, possibly enough to case side effects or decrease cardiac output.
If the patient has already been fully evaluated, a cardiologist may still add a low-dose beta blocker in some cases, in order to reduce the oxygen demand of the heart muscle.

Many types...: Bronchodilators such as albuterol (Ventolin) or levalbuterol (Xopenex) enlarge the diameter of the airways to help air flow and mucus come out of the lungs. Patients with cough-variant asthma, exercise-induced asthma, or regular asthma also use steroid inhalers (such as Flovent) to reduce swelling, mucus, and "sensitivity" in the airways. Singulair is an another medication that can be used.

Approaching: depression wi multiple modalities is best. There are many
things you can do for depression.  Don't isolate. Spend time w people. Use your support system. Get out. Don’t stagnate at home. Work to get 8 hours or &gt; of sleep per night &amp; eat healthfully. Daily aerobic physical activity is a big +.  Recommend the “Feeling Good Book" by Dr. David Burns. Don't just read it - DO IT!

Several: Now that we have studies showing that long-term benefits for interferons and Copaxone are likely minimal at best, and that 60% of pts do not do well by 2 yrs, we are starting to see the emergence of far more potent meds.  Gilenya and tysabri (natalizumab) are here.  Tecfedera is close, lemtrada by end of year.  Daclizumab, ocrelizumab, the newer s-1-p drugs being looked at.  Even new drug for spasticity.
