Viral syndrome: It sounds like you may be dehydrated, so would start drinking water and  continue to drink more fluids.  Often when you have a viral illness you don't eat very much and have  increased loss of fluids from fevers or vomiting or diarrhea.  So start drinking healthy fluids!

Unlikely: It is very likely that you were exposed to EBV as a child and the recent exposure is not your first exposure to this virus. If you have persistent fever with enlarged lymph nodes, see your doctor.

Post Viral Syndrome: Post viral syndrome is well documented but poorly understood. The symptoms can include severe fatigue, joint/muscle pain and confusion/forgetfulness. Symptomatic treatment with OTC pain relievers, stretching exercises, rest and increased fluids/electrolytes are the best protocol as they avoid the complications that can be caused by narcotic pain relievers, antidepressants or immunomodulators.

Doubtful: If this condition is long standing, I would suggest an orthopedic evaluation and x-rays of your LS spine. I new onset, and only related to your cold this  may be arthralgia ( aching joints) , not uncommon in viral infections.

In some cases such as measles, chicken pox or flu, vaccines provide protection from infection.
