Sure, but: Vinegar would somewhat cleanse the vagina and some women douche with half strength vinegar.  But a mild soap and plain water outside the vagina and plain water inside the vagina would also be adequate for that purpose - without douching.  Few women have any need to douche, and many women who douche end up having vaginal discharge due to alteration of the vaginal flora because of the douching.

Accepted Answer

No: Metrogel contains metronidazole, an antibiotic effective against trichomonas and anaerobic bacteria.  As a general rule the vagina will clear itself by  secretions and shedding.  Some women feel comfortable douching regularly, but many ob/gyn experts disparage this practice.

None: Natural 'wetness" by definition is not enhanced by any unnatural or synthetic product. Water based lubricants can supplement Mother Nature.

Keep it clean: Like any cut, keep it clean and monitor the area for signs of infection, such as increasing redness, soreness, discharge (pus) from the cut, fever, and generally worsening.  Overall, you should be fine, ..But if the above occur, seek medical attention.

: This is not a good idea. All data on douching ("vaginal wash") show it to be harmful:  it alters the natural bacterial composition of the vagina in ways that seriously increase risk of bacterial vaginosis and susceptibility to STIs, including PID, the main serious complication of STI in women. No woman should douche routinely and creating a product that promotes it is inappropriate.

2nd opinion needed: Your wife needs to see a GYN MD for a 2nd opinion as we almost never advocate the use of a commercial douching product for an abnormal odor from the vagina. An assessment for a vaginal infection will be done first and foremost as douching can actually cause more harm to the vaginal pH sometimes worsening the presumptive bacterial infection.

so i used these new wipes to cleanse my private areas for a few days. then my vagina dried up and a day after a rash formed. what do i do?

Stop using wipes: Likely you had an allergic reaction to the wipes... That's what the dryness and rash are from. Possibly you have a yeast infection. If still hurting and sore, consider either Hydrocortisone 1% topical cream, and if that doesn't help, then try over the counter anti-fungal.  Likely will go away on it's own, but sometimes a contact dermatitis like this can take a few days.

i noticed some itching in my vagina area. once i investigated further, i noticed a patch of skin under my vaginal opening that looks similar to an eczema patch. there is no discharge other than normal vaginal cleansing discharge and no smell either?

Accepted Answer

: Tentatively, use warm sitz bath 2-3 times a day for a couple days and observe the symptoms. Avoid sex if possible in the mean time. If new symptoms, such as abnormal discharge, dysuria or the lesion expands, you should see a GYN by then.
