Apple juice and UTI': Yes  -  any juice is good to drink while under treatment for a UTI  - it won't treat the infection but the fluid will help more you want to urinate and flush your body.    It was once thought that acidic juices  ie cranberry helped but the amount of sugar in cranberry drinks defeats that purpose.   Any increased fluid intake will help during UTI's

HowBoutAMacroSmoothi: Shouldn't be a problem. How did it taste? Another way to do it is to take a  bite of a banana and let the pill slither down with it--or any other food you may like. The important thing is that you take the medication as directed. Even if it says "without food," one swallow of something won't matter. Then chase it with some water, or more apple juice or whatever.

See below.: Cranberry juice is commonly used as there is a plausible weak benefit as an anti infective.  However, there is no study that clearly demonstrates this effect.  There is little downside to taking it other than weight gain and possible increase in reflux irritation.

Can try: There has been little evidence in clinical trials of cranberry juice being an effective way to manage and treat urinary tract infections.  Although there are identifiable benefits to cranberry juice in a laboratory setting, it has been failed to be reproduced in animal studies to a wide degree.  Antibiotics remain the treatment of choice for a bacterial uti.

May still need Abx: You will probably still need antibiotic treatment for an established uti.  Cranberry juice is most effective in prevention as it somehow prevents e. Coli, the most common UTI bacteria from attaching itself to the bladder wall which is when the infectious process starts.
