what to do if i have a pumice stone and my boyfriend has terribly callused feet. how do i use the stone?

Pumice stone: After your boyfriend gets his feet wet (shower bath or swimming).  Take the stone and rub back and forth over the hardened area.  You should see some skin flaking off.  You do not want to continue if his skin starts to turn red.  See a professional if bleeding occurs!

: I am suspicious of a soft tissue mass on a two year old. Recommend seeing your pediatrician or podiatrist as soon as possible. It might not be a callus. Is it growing in size? Is it moveable?  Unknown mass ,especially in children, should be examined by a doctor.

Avoid pumice: Insure you use fresh, sharp blades vice dull blades. If hair is &gt; several mm long – then trim before shaving. Wash area before shaving – warm water helps to soften hair. Use a lubricant when shaving. Avoid using products that contain alcohol or are scented.  Shave in direction of the hair – not against it. Be gentle when shaving – don’t push down too hard. Moisturize skin after shaving.

Dental Supplier: Pumice is very abrasive to teeth and should not be used on a regular basis. Dental suppliers sell it, but the general public should not be using it as it can cause enamel to wear when used too frequently.

Accepted Answer

No: Abrasion of a scar may worsen it.  Just the opposite of what you want.

Callus: "stainless steel file that removes rough, dry skin and calluses to reveal soft, smooth skin. Try the ped egg which can be found at walmart stores and others.

Skin changes: Be checked. It is possible that you have a secondary infection. It also may be part of the healing process. One needs antibiotic treatment; the other close observation. Both require cleaning by soaking your foot/feet regularly. All the best.

Callous: you had callous built up on your feet.  Continue to make the pumice and cream a part of your routine and you will keep it from coming back.

Can: Abrasive use (pumice stone) is effective at removal of surface irregularities and dead skin layers. Usually not efficient for hair removal alone.  If done too firmly, can irritate hair follicle openings and leave the stubble appearance you may be referring to in your question.

See a Dr.: It does not sound as though you have a corn so i would see a podiatrist to determine what it is.
