Are you sure that: you have a yeast infection? If not, having the diagnosis confirmed by your physician makes sense.  Different types of vaginal problems require different medical interventions. Yeast can present with clumpy, white vaginal discharge to a watery, white discharge. Sometimes a discharge is not apparent. There is no odor. It can cause swelling and redness of vulva along with itching and burning pain.

Stop shaving: First of all, don't shave, and if you must - use an electric trimmer. This will help avoid tiny cuts in your skin caused by a razor. Hair is there for a reason - it protects the delicate skin of the vulva. Vagisil is a horrible product that contains a harsh chemical - benzocaine - that will cause more irritation. The best thing to do is warm compresses, loose-fitting clothes, let it heal.

: Burning sensation is one known side effect of monistat cream or gel. Penaten should not be used for mucous membrane or intravaginal site. You can use warm sitz bath 15 minutes, several times a day for the current symptom.
