Vaginitis: It can be difficult to tell if a 'fishy' smell is coming from urine or the vagina it is usually related to  vaginal infections (trichomoniasis, gardnerella, or bacterial vaginosis). If a man has a fishy smell his urine he may have gotten a bacterial infection from a woman he had sex with.

Urine odor: A fishy smelll to urine is more often than not emanating from the vagina and is related to vaginitis.  If you are also having blood clots vaginally you would be best off to be seen and examined by a gynecologist. Good luck.

Urine odor: A fishy odor to the urine is usually actually from the vagina due to infection, but if this only occurs when you eat fish, then is related to some chemical from the fish.  Have you ever eaten asparagus and then smelled your urine?

Normal: What you described is quite normal.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Fairly normal: This is not unusual, especially for some foods like asparagus.  Increase your water intake, and urine will be less concentrated and smelly.  You may still be able to smell certain foods after you've eaten them, though.

Not uncommon: Depending on the food you ate, it's not uncommon that urine odor would reflect this.  Your body has to process food into breakdown products so you can let go of the waste through urine and feces.  If you've ever eaten asparagus, you would know urine can smell like asparagus.  Make sure you drink plenty of fresh water and this aroma should dissipate.

It is the byproduct of what we eat and drink.
If you eat a lot of garlic ,the urine MAY have a garlic odor.Some people may have a discernible sense of smell,hence can notice /pick-up any variation in color of smell of urine.

Urine or vaginal?: Strong smelling urine usually isn't abnormal, generally due to eating strongly flavored foods. If so, it should improve with diet change and drinking lots of fluids. If it still continues, you might have a urinary tract infection. Also, are you sure the odor isn't vaginal? If so, you could have bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of vaginal bacteria. See your doctor if symptoms continue. Good luck!
