Sounds serious: You have several things going on, and unfortunately no one can really help you without examining you.  If by "painful to eat" you mean the abdominal pain comes on whenever you eat, this could be an emergency, even if some of it has been happening for years.  You need to be seen by a clinician. Likely: Adhesions or the mesh itself or the mesh fixation system (tacks).  Or it could be a nerve entrapment (neuroma).

Go see your doc: Itching all over the body with upper belly pain may be a sign of bile obstruction from gallbladder disease or from occlusion of the bile ducts by some other process such as a growing mass or cancer. You should have your doctor check liver enzymes and get some imaging of you belly like an ultrasound or CT scan.

Doubt it: Anything is possible in the universe but I wouldn't put my money on all of that being SIDE EFFECTS of the MEDROL (methylprednisolone).  I'd get a urine analysis, CBC w/diff, some orthostatic blood pressures, and make sure I were drinking doubling my fluid intake with the symptoms you've got.  Oh, almost forgot, make an appointment with the doctor who gave you the Dosepak to check you over for an infection.

Need more info: I'd need lots more info to help on this one. How long have symptoms been there, how high is fever, and exposures or rashes, shot record, etc. This could be strep, could be influenza, possibly mono, other viruses. The list is quite long until more history and an exam done. Would suggest a visit to your doc today before the weekend or alternatively, an urgent care center. Get lots of rest and fluids.

Couple of things..: Gallbladder disease, pancreatitis, peptic ulcer dieases, gastritis, severe reflux can cause your symptoms. Viral gastroenteritis (stomach-bug), irritable bowel can do same as well. If it is severe and rapid onset, it could be pancreatitis/gallbladder disease. If it is better better, then it is a good thing...If getting worse, consult/call doc for instructions...
