Skin infections: You may be developing a skin infection(cellulitis) or abscess at the site of the bite. Use warm soaks and consult a doctor for antibiotics or incision and drainage if the skin becomes more red, warm, or painful or the area of redness and firmness spreads. You can put triple antibiotic on it and cover with a sterile dressing like a band aid after washing the area first.

Not likely: A concern would be infectious fasciitis, thrombophlebitis (blood clot), and hematoma.  You definitely need to be examined and soon.

Requires exam: and direct observation or photo documentation. possibilitires would include erythema nodosum, hives, fungal infection  or autoimmune illness. You must be examined and tested. Cannot be diagnosed online.

Maybe skin infection: Apply a cool compress to the area, a topical antibiotic and please see your physician. She may need an antibiotic. If the area is itchy, an anti histamine may be added.
