Hard to say: There are a lot of things that can cause irregular bleeding.  Most are not harmful or worrisome.  Pregnancy always needs to be checked for , but if not pregnant and this continues a visit to gyn and labs & ultrasound can likely give a precise answer as to why this is happening.

Maybe not, but...: If a woman has a regular normal period after sex, then she is not pregnant. If she cannot be certain that her bleeding was a normal period, then she could possibly be pregnant. A urine pregnancy test (available in stores everywhere) done 3 weeks after the last time she had sex will give the answer. Be sure to read the instructions and do the test correctly.

So the odds of contracting it from someone of unknown status depend on the odds of someone having it, which varies by community and lifestyle.  Next variable is riskiness of the act...  Best get checked and practice safe sex every time.
