No, it shouldn't: Assuming everything went off without a hitch, your remaining testicle should be able to produce plenty of testosterone & sperm. Just to be sure, ask your surgeon to check your levels, preferably before & after. More likely, a decrease in sex drive or libido post-op can be due to stress (relationship, money, work family, friends), health, medications, substance use, as opposed to low t.

my urologist says she will use two side cut incisions when she performs my simple bilateral orchiectomy because there is less bleeding. are two side cuts better than one central incision?

: Both are acceptable and heal in the same with no more or less loss of blood. So its a personal preference and comfort

Very slim odd...: In medicine, it is a common belief to have familial trend to develop the same disorder. But, I would not think, talk, worry about such in your children since, if any, it should very low and nothing could be done with it. All what you have to do is be diligently and vigilantly aware of how testicular torsion may happen so to seek timely evaluation &amp; counseling. That is all we can do in life reality

Maybe: It is true that damage to one testicle can trigger the immune system to make ant-sperm antibodies that then attacks both the injured & uninjured testicles. Most of the work has been done in rats (probably a good thing). In rats, orchiectomy must be performed soon after injury to protect the other testicle. Get another opinion and do so as soon as possible.

i think i have developed scar tissue in my scrotum after my bilateral orchiectomy. it feels like the inside of my scrotum is fused to my pelvis on one side. is there anything i can do to break up the scar tissue without doing any damage?

: Scar tissue can develop after any surgery. Your scrotum is empty, unless testicular prostheses were implanted. You can try to pull scrotum away from your pelvis, but it is likely too late. This should have been done as soon after surgery  as possible. Surgical implantation of testicular prosthesis/es, should you be interested, would take care of this problem.

can external hemorrhoids cause scrotal pain? i had a right side simple orchiectomy due to suffering testicle pain, but now when i have a bowel movement or press on my hemorrhoids i get pain in the lower part of my scrotum?

: If the discomfort is not primarily in the anorectal area but in the perineum ( between the anus and scrotum) it may be from congestion/ mild inflammation of the prostate gland.  A thrombosed external hemorrhoid is quite painful.  If symptoms persist I recommend a rectal examination by your physician or urologist.

Sorry......: Your question was cut short or was incomplete, so I&#x27;m not sure what you are asking. In any event, if you are having problems related to the surgery and it&#x27;s within 6 weeks of the procedure, you should really contact surgeon if there is a problem or question.

will there be any complications or ill-effects in the future from getting a partial orchiectomy on one testicle from trauma (other one is still fine)?

Not likely: If you are young and healthy, there should be no serious long-term effects from loss of a portion of one testis with the other testis being normal.   This is true for both the hormone production aspect and reproductive or sperm production aspect of testis function.

is sex safe after orchiectomy?

Accepted Answer

Yes!: You should consider waiting for 1 week or so to let things heal up after surgery. After that, you should be good to go. Remember in general, to be more careful about activities that risk contact to the area (horse riding, soccer, martial arts etc) as you are only running on 1 testicle now!
