No: It is not known if sexual orientation is genetic, metabolic, or what, but your thoughts will not directly affect your unborn child. If you have not previously had a homosexual or bisexual orientation, a change in thoughts about sex could even be hormonal. Many women have changes in their thought process during pregnancy.

See below: Congenital dysplastic/multicystic kidney is either nonfunctuional or has a minimal function.  This is not a treatable condition and affected kidney is often resected at later age.

Reflux: Medical term"hydronephrosis" of the kidneys. At some point during development of kidney, the ureter(the tube that carries urine from kidney to the bladder) gets kinked & urine back flows in the kidneys.Obstetricians monitor them closely while in utero, we usually get a kidney us when baby is born to rule it out and be sure there is no obstruction.Urology consult & prophylactic antibiotics if needed.

Need cause: Hydronephrosis just doesn't happen - there is usually a cause that can identified. Is there urine reflux, are there posterior urethral valves, is there an intrinsic problem with the kidneys. Once the cause is identified, then you can focus on treatment. Need workup by pediatric urologist and/or pediatric nephrologist before kidney damage occurs.

Start of solids: The american academy of pediatrics recommends 6 months. A more flexible schedule is 3-6 months or 13-16 pounds, whichever comes first.

i have a 9 month old baby girl. i accidentally bought children's acetametiphen instead of infant's. do i need to go exchange it or is there a dosage appropriate for infants?

No need to return: The concentration found in childrens Acetaminophen can most certainly be used in infants.  The infants concentration is actually currently being phased off of the market.  The amount to be given is weight dependent.  Acetaminophen is dosed at 15mg/kg/ dose.  So, i would need to know childs weight.  A 20 lb baby would get 4 ml every 4- 6 hours.

can an adult actually recieve a kidney transplant from a infant kidney?

Accepted Answer

No: I'm sure a transplant surgeon would go on about how it may fulfill some of the needs, but the truth is it's just too small to take on the full load of an adult. Plus there are simply way too many children needing a renal transplant who need an infant sized kidney. Unos would likely not allow a non-directed donation, and i don't know any transplant surgeons who would allow a directed one.

Follow-up W/ Doctor: Your son's age, specific details not given. Thinning of cortex indicates decrease in structures important to kidney function; associated with lower urinary tract disorders in 50% of cases; is 1.5 times more common in males; can be associated w/ congenital anomalies of other organs in 30%. More info needed to formulate any conclusions about your son's prognosis. Follow-up w/ your doctor for answers
