ulcer in back of throat. not swollen and very little pain. no fever either. i threw up about a week ago so im wondering if the acid caused it? strep?

Ulcer: More likely an ulcer from some viral infection.  Best way to is to have someone take a look at it, especially if persisting and not going away or changing after 10 10 14 days.

Apthous ulcer: If you are sure that is what it is, try gargling with acidolphilus. Kenalog (triamcinolone) in orabase will also ease symptoms and tends to stick on the ulcer.

Mixture of…: Hydrogen peroxide, warm salt water (saline), & alcohol-based mouthwash will soothe & help heal ulcer. Or can use otc prep glyoxide. Be sure not to swallow mixture. If aphthous ulcer doesn't improve, fp/ent can treat with silver nitrate stick.

Otolaryngologist: This could be due to a herpes infection. Have you had a throat culture? Have an exam by an otolaryngologist(ear, nose and throat specialist) if you're not improving. In the meantime try gargling with viscous Lidocaine to deaden the pain.

Find out the cause: You need to see your physician to try to find out the cause of the problem now.  Troubles speaking suggests an issue around the larynx or voice box.

Probably not: The mouth sore should be gone in a couple weeks.  If either one lasts i would suggest seeing a physician.

Depends: It depends on the cause/how far back in the throat/general health/smoking habits/oral habits
if the cause was mechanical, then it should heal on its own in a few days...Gargling with a mild salt water may help.
There are many systemic diseases that can cause/result in an ulcerations in the mouth/throat...See your doc immediately if it doesn't resolve in a few days.
