Molecular targeting: These agents are designed to selectively knock out key pathways  your tumor may use to grow.  Presumably you already had your tumor tested for these different mutations.  Ask the doctor offering these options  to explain their rationale.  These are investigational studies and many of the treatment costs may be covered-ask.

Interesting question: There is no evidence that it would hurt. J Psychiatry Neurosci suggests: L-Tyrosine does not seem to enhance the release of catecholamines when neurons are firing at their basal rates, but it does when firing rates are increased by stress. The main effects of L-tyrosine that have been reported are acute effects in preventing a decline in cognitive function in response to physical stress.

Wrong premise: Tyrosine is a Dopamine precursor and it does not go to melatonin in the body. 

In balanced dosing with tryptophan and 5 hydroxy tryptophan , the serotonin goes to melatonin. 

Unbalanced it can make a patient sicker.

L-tyrosine: This amino acid is one of the basic amino acids your thyroid uses to make thyroid hormone. If you are taking synthroid this can lead to excess thyroid in the serum and signs of hyperthyroidism.  Some times a provider will do this to improve response to thyroid replacement, but should probably not be done unless your provider thinks this is appropriate.

Yes...but: careful not to take too much. Watch for signs of serotoneric syndrome (confusion, elevated heart rate and temperature, and muscle stiffness.)

Context: If you are a sedentary adult with coronary risk factors and chest pain, you are probably having a myocardial infarction / heart attack. If you are a athletic adult who has just completed a rough strength workout in the gym or a homeowner who has spent the weekend chopping and carrying lumber, you are fine. In my population of physically-active med students, a majority have had elevated ck's.
