Extended cycle: A literature review shows that women's satisfaction with their contraception, compliance in taking the pills on time, and discontinuation rates are not significantly different between traditional and extended cycle regimens.The extended cycle group fares better in terms of headaches, genital irritation, tiredness, bloating, and menstrual pain.

I assume you mean th: Thrombosis, any pill can cause that, but if u are healthy and young at age 30 and have no medical problems that would make u more at risk or and a neg family hx, your chance of thrombosis is very low and now with the newer low dose pills like loloestrin the risk is lower tell your doc you want to be on tehelowest combo pill which is loloestrin.

Decreases pill: St. John's wart decreases the effectiveness of oral contraceptive pills and should not be used together. Consider using a different method such as an iud or essure if you are done having children.

Stop what?: Taking som e one else's prescription medication is a poor idea and can be dangerous.  If your menses is what is meant, then it could work or it may very well not and cause abnormal bleeding.

this sunday i took an inactive pill by accident with my new month birth control pills. i didnt realize until yesterday i took the wrong pill. i took sunday and monday pill together. now im missing a white pill for a saturday. what should i do?

: Nothing to concern, you just skip one inactive pill, i.e. one day without taking any pill, if period is still not happening yet. Take care.

Expiring OCP's: Probably fine, but using a condom as a back-up wouldn't hurt, while giving you peace of mind.

Drug interactions : Reviewed medical database and was unable to find any evidence of significant drug interactions between formulations of cysteine and birth control pills.  Would recommend still to consult with prescribing physician as well.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Birth control pills prevent ovarian and endometrial cancers.  Cervical cancer is increased due to most pill users do not use condoms and are more at risk for hpv infection which can cause cervical cancer.  There is a small increase in breast cancer with more than 10 years use, but these patients tend to have a much less aggressive form o breast cancer.

Delayed menses: It is unclear why you didn't get a menses.  I suspect that it will come shortly.

No: All of the available birth control pills, to my knowledge, have varying degrees of estrogen or estrogen-like components and as such can contribute to the development of melasma (in conjunction with sun-exposure).
