This may be: nerve compression of the lumbar nerve roots. I suggest an orthopredic exam, nerve conduction studies and an MRI of your lumbar spine.

Uncertain: Do the muscles Twitch?   If not  this might  be paresthesias. You can discuss wiht your physicains - if the muscles  twitch then  this could be muscular  or nerve.

Baker's cyst: Simple ultrasound exam will point out a large fluid-filled pouch if that's the case. See your doctor.

Souds like: Osgood-schlatter's disease, common in you age group.  You will need an accurate physical examination and maybe x rays, so see your doctor for better advice.

Not likely: 
Well, it's "possible," but isn't likely. A popliteal DVT (vein behind knee) should have swelling &amp; pain below knee at first, less with time. "Twitchy" symptoms really don't go with DVT. There are many causes of leg pain and this probably isn't DVT.  8 month old DVT really not dangerous as clots become stiff like "scar" by that time &amp; won't move. See a Doc to assess possible cause. Hope this helps

i have pain in my calf and behind my knee. the pain is never in the same spot it's worse when laying down or relaxing. pain is always different from dull to stabbing to burning to twitching to pins and needles feeling and sometimes numbness?

Sciatica: It is very likely you have sciatica.  The sciatic nerve can be irritated with by many things. Recommend NSAIDs, exercise and ab strengthening.  Sleep and sit on hard NOT soft surfaces. If not better definitive treatment is medrol dose pak and/or PT.

Don't know: Really hard to say without more information or examining you.  Are you getting enough sleep, is the first question.  Have you been exercising heavily, or conversely, not enough?  Do you take any medications that could affect your potassium level, like a diuretic? Try some gentle stretching of you leg muscles, get a good night's rest, and if it persists go see your doctor.

Depends on the type: If your leg or arm jumps you could have restless leg syndrome which is treatable.Other remedies may include more rest or evaluation of your body chemicals such as potassium.
