my husband suffered from a rapid heart beat, he gasps for air particularly around high altitude areas yet when we are at sea level he doesnt. ?

Assessment: High altitude means relatively rarified oxygen.We dont have his medical history.As such,a physician/cardiologist/pulmonologist assessment called for.This is not normal.

i have a fluttering feeling in my chest..it comes and goes. it almost feels like a rapid heart beat but i checked my pulse and it doesn't seem to be beating to fast?

Probably PVCs : A full history and physical along with labs and a 12 lead ECG should be done. A 48 hr holter if it occurs frequently or a 30 day event recorder if its intermittent. A 2d echo will tell if heart is structually normal. If symptoms occur with activity a stress echo can be done.

fatigue for past 5 months.doesn't get better with sleep.feeling of overwhelm of ftatigue accompanies by rapid heart beat and needed to breath more. happens,randoms times a day but, goes away after a couple minutes, leaving underlying feeling fatigue.

Fatigue: You MAY have a hormonal imbalance from thyroid or blood sugar fluctuations as in pre-diabetes or diabetes.  Please see your doctor.  If ok, consider seeing a clinical psychologist for possible depression. How is your diet and exercise level?   Peace and good health.

There can be several: Stress or any state where your body is producing Epinephrine (adrenaline) will increase your heart rate. Increased activity like exercise will alter your hr. Certain drugs like Cocaine can dramatically increase your hr.  Also severe infections.  Then there are rhythm problems of the heart like atrial fibrillation, svt and other abnormal electrical conduction can cause rapid heart rat.

Testosterone: Yes. Testosterone shots could cause rapid heart beat in &lt;1% of cases.

will accupril (quinapril) lower my rapid heart beat?

Accepted Answer

Not likely: If accupril (quinapril) (or any ACE inh) is given for blood pressure, the heart rate will not change. Only beta blockers and some calcium channel blockers will do that.
However: if accupril (quinapril) is given for heart failure, it is possible that when CHF is better compensated, the heart rate will be lower due to the better compensated CHF and not by direct effect of the medication.

Rapid heart beat: Palpitations with symptoms of dizziness should be evaluated by cardiologist. It could be atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia etc.

The symptoms you: Mention can be from anxiety, or they can be from other things such as thyroid, heart issues, etc.  Please see your doc to get a diagnosis and you can go from there. Get it checked: Anxiety - especially a panic attack - can cause a rapid heart rate. However, there are other causes too. You should get it checked out. Many of the can be treated with medicines and some cured by procedures.
