Little if any risk: It takes a lot more blood exposure than this to have any HIV risk -- even if the child had HIV (which is extremely unlkely unless this happened in an area with high HIV frequency, like southern Africa).

Covered is best: The real question is what not to do that slows down healing. Avoid using alcohol, peroxide, hibiclens, betadine, and bleach solutions. Inflammation ( red, hot, swollen, tender) is important to healing  so anti-inflammatories (motrin, advil) are bad. Cover the area with a clean dressing changed every other day  and protected from trauma.  Antibiotics do not help healing unless it is truly infected.

Resin: You may be allergic to a type of glue or resin they use, or to the latex in the bandaid. You should have a patch test to determine what you are allergic to. A dermatologist or allergist can help you.

: Some friend you have !  Very unlikely that you have been infected with any diseases.  The sharp object depending upon its background might carry tetanus spores so hopefully your inoculation is up to date.  Otherwise you are unlikely to have any problem with this.

Band aids: I don't think there's enough evidence to say that bandaids slow the healing of cuts or abrasions, but it's pretty obvious that many cuts do just as well without them.  They're probably not necessary for the majority of cuts out there- except for cosmetic purposes.  Proper wound care and dressing is important to healing, but your standard adhesive bandaid might probably not be part of that regimen.

is it okay that my skin is white after i take my bandaid off? is it okay to put another one on?

Wet skin: The skin under the bandaid is wet and needs to breathe a little. Keep the area uncovered at night and put a bandaid on if protection is needed during the day.

i put  a bandaid on boil. when i took off the bandaid. the boil had popped. i don't know what do do know?

Evaluation: When a boil drains, the symptoms may improved but antibiotic treatment may be necessary. See your physician for treatment.

i cant stop pulling on my hangnails. i assume its a mental thing but it can get bad. i dont do it on purpose but i do it anyways and some of them have taken forever to heal and i have to wear bandaids pretty much 24/7?

: Buy a nail clipper and mentally  commit to cutting these hangnails, but never pulling them. Start a program of sleeping in cotton gloves after using coconut oil or a lubricating lotion on your hands, and the hangnails should resolve in their own. Good luck

Yes: It's probably a good idea to cover it since it's contagious.  You can begin taking oral antivirals to shorten the course of the illness.  They've only shown to be helpful in the first 72h.
