0.5 mg of what?: Each medication in this class has a different half life. It depends on which one you are taking. For instance Klonopin (clonazepam) has a fairly long half life.

He probably received: ...a Versed or Valium-type sedation. Of course, if his sedation did not include such agents, he may be procuring them from another source given his positive drug screen as reported.

It depends: But if it is a false positive just ask for confirmatory testing which will come back negative.  Atarax (hydroxyzine) doesn't routinely cause false positives in my experience.

Yes: Of course if you take benzos, that will show up positive on a urine test. However, there are other meds which can give a false positive reading too. If this is for employment or law enforcement, then they would do a confirmatory test to make sure exactly what substance is making it positive.

: No, totally different substances, unless totally different sample (from a different person). A confirmatory  test will be needed, make sure they are aware of your prescribed substances prior to the test.
