Possibly : This should respond more to muscle relaxants, but if the stiffness is due to arthritis of the spine it should respond well to anti-inflammatory medications.

Yes; Possibly.: Cervical dystonia is an imbalance in muscle activity of the neck muscles, which can cause abnormal postures or shaking. It is also known as torticollis or spasmodic torticollis. Most cases get slowly worse over time, though some cases have been reported of spontaneous improvement. Oral medicines and injections of Botox may be helfpul.

Birth trauma...etc.: Congenital torticollis is thought to be due to injury of the sternocleidomastoid muscle during birth or during the baby's time in the womb. The exact cause is unclear, however. It manifests in infancy but may not be diagnosed until adolescence or even adulthood.

TORTICOLLIS: Is the stiffness of the neck due to improper position .There is a head tilt depending on the severity of the muscle stffness and a  muscle bulge of your scm.

if i was laying on a high pillow with my neck tilted forward and the nape of my skull tilted forward a little would that do anything? kind of hurts in area? like if i was laying directly on the top of the base of skull?

: You might have inadvertently sprained your neck. Use a pillow which is comfortable and in a few days your strain should go away. Good luck

Yes: Glands or nodes may be palpable, non tender a bit mobile.

No: It is due to bad positioning and pressure on the side of the neck. Should resolve spontaneously
