Thrush: Steroid inhaler may affect the trachea but doesnt get to the lungs. Rinsing iut the mouth with luke warm water can prevent oral thrush.

Unlikely: That is unlikely unless you are immunocompromised from HIV, certain medications, cancer or diabetes.

I strongly recommend you seek medical attention soon for a complete workup and treatment planning. It appears that your health may have been neglected for sometime and there may be significant immune compromise.

It depends...: First, it must be said that just because candida is found in a sputum culture, it does not mean that a person has a candidal infection- this yeast is typically a colonizer and can be mistaken as a culprit . However, in the approrpiate context, profound immuno-suppression (organ transplant or else, bone marrow transplant patient)  creates  a situation where candida can be an opportunistic infection.

No: Candidiasis lung infection implies more than just airway colonization . It requires systemic anti-fungals . It is seen in immunosuppressed pts.

Licorice Root: Licorice root (glycyrrhiza glabra) helps with fungal and yeast infections.  Also try any herb or vitamin that boost immunity like vit d.

Immunocomprimised?: Are you sure you had "thrush", " a yeast infection?  Was the thrush gone, then you got the swollen gland, chills, nose, chest, etc.?  It could be separate ailments, but why are you getting sick?  Your resistance (immune system) might be poor- you need to see a physician and/or take care of yourself.
