Depends on meaning: I encourage my patients to find physical activities that they can be engaged in for a lifetime. The idea of lifting weights can mean many things. The aap and certified trainer groups recommend no power lifting until the final stage of physical maturity which is when you reach your final height.Training in proper   lifting under supervision of a certified trainer is fine.

If you are asking about activities that can affect growth, then smoking, illicit drug use, inappropriate steroid use and poor nutrition are all culprits.

No: This is a common myth but there is no evidence that moderate exercise will stunt growth. Inadequate nutritional intake or overtraining can effect growth, but exercise is recommended for all ages. Children are encouraged to get 60 minutes of physical activity daily.

No: That's too little to cause any permanent damage, but it is quite addictive and can easily lead to more tobacco use, which will eventually cause problems.  So, one should stay away from smoking anything (tobacco or other stuff), and stay away from anything containing nicotine.
