No problem: ouch!!  Hematoma will prob heal without concerns, watch for excessive potassium release, and occasionally hematomas can get infected but usually within three weeks. Most likely event is increased discoloration changing from green to yellow over four weeks

Usually transient: There are several cutaneous nerves in the area.
As the bruising resorbs, this neuropathic discomfort is likely to clear.
Be sure to tell your interventionalists about it.
There are several possible local complications, so be sure there is nothing else. They will check pulses and hematoma.

Go to ER: Compartment syndrome can cause limb loss!  numbness can be one if the symptoms!  go to er immediately to be examined by a doctor.  It is a surgical emergency!

i am experiencing  leg pain. the following also describes me: cold feet. i fell from my bike just over a week ago and badly bruised my left thigh with a hematoma and scraped and bruised my right shin up to the knee.  what should i do?

PVD: Leg hematomas can be quite large and compress veins, arteries and nerves.  I'd certainly want it imaged to see if this has compromised normal vascular circulation.

Superficial injury?: While a huge hematoma may seem like a big deal, it may not mean much if it is not painful. You could have caused bruise  by having a pressure sustained on your thigh causing microtrauma to the veins in the skin and the subcutaneous tissues .  Warm soaks or compress for 15 mins at a time  will help it disappear faster.

Painful bruise: Yes!  use cold compresses over it and restrict your activity.

Bruise: Your itching is what caused the bruise if you were rubbing hard. It is nothing to be concerned about.
