Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor. Cough lasting more than two weeks warrants an investigation.

i have a urti. is it a sign that i am getting better when i am coughing up a lot of thick yellow mucus?

If improving: Most urti's will cause some thick yellow mucus as they are resolving, but if the symptoms are not getting better, or worsening, they could be due to a secondary infection that may need to be treated.  Fever, or shortness of breath, facial pain could all be symptoms that would indicate the need to see a doctor.

Bile: Vomiting bile may be an alarm signal. Have him checked by your doctor or go to the ER

Now: Kids can have sinusitis. Since his symptoms are not better he will likely need an antibiotic.  Infection related rashes resolve in few days but this rash could be related to other reasons. Take care.

Small abscess?: Difficult to say without a pic, but you may have a small abscess that is draining. If so, the area would be red in addition to being tender. If this is the case, it would require local and possibly systemic antibiotics. I'd see your doctor soon before a possible infection spreads.

Bronchitis: Most common cause of coughing up mucus is bronchitis, which usually clears on its own over time. Sinusitis can sometimes cause this if the drainage occurs while sleeping. Mild forms of atypical pneumonia can also cause this.If not better in one week, talk with your doctor again. If short of breath, chest pain, or fever develop, see the doctor right away.

Mask: I hope you wear an appropriate facial mask while you work with fiberglass. You should get A pulmonary function test to see if you have any restrict airway disease now. You should see a pulmonologist and an environmental doc.

Its time: to see a doctor  It may be a Viral syndrome but you may need a culture of your throat and antibiotics sorry  but we can not diagnose  easily on line

STD: I would see your OB. You may have contracted chlamydia, gonorrhea or some other form of STD.  Your partner should also get checked and treated. If you are nursing make sure your OB gives you medication that is safe for your baby.
