Hard to guess: It can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result if done correctly. One can test about 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period. An Ob-Gyn doctor can evaluate any persistent or worrisome symptoms.

That depends: If you are taking pills straight through, you should eventually stop spotting. If you haven't, then try a new pill for 3 months to see if the breakthrough bleeding will stop.  If you are leaving 5-7 days between you last active pill ; the next pack, your period can be very slight as what pills do is prevent your body from producing a uterine lining.  Little lining, little period.No preg, no fail!

Yes: As the tissue from your uterus sloughs off, a brown color is very common.

If it persists beyond your period, talk to your obgyn for a check up.

Coincidental: Hi. I doubt that clitoral masturbation has anything to do with the vaginal discharge you describe. Clitoral masturbation will definitely moisten the vagina, and orgasm will cause uterine contraction among other things. However, the brown/red discharge almost sounds like part of a period. When in your cycle did this occur? If it is abnormal vaginal bleeding, please see your gyn. Good luck!

Periods can vary: Menstrual periods may vary a little in length, pain and flow.  Sometimes they can even be skipped or come very early or late due to stress.  Occasionally periods are more painful due to an STD.  If your pregnancy test was negative, and you had a period of any sort, you are probably not pregnant.  If you are still concerned, re-check a home test in a week, and/or see your gynecologist.

Nipple Discharge: This should be evaluated as soon as possible. It could be related to your cycles or medications, but it also could be something more serious.  I am a strong believer that breast discharges should not be ignored.  Please see your doctor right away.

Infection & hormones: Some vaginal discharge can be normal. As you go through the month your hormones cause changes in the discharge. In some cases though discharge can be a sign of infection. Causes incluse yeast, bacterial vaginosis, and stds. There are simple tests that can be done in the office to determine if this is normal or not.
