Rx: This is the 21st century and you shouldn't have to be troubled by these annoying lesions -- being a teen is difficult enough. I start with topical Clindamycin plus either benzoyl peroxide (over-the-counter) or a retinoic acid derivative (if there's lots of blackheads); a systemic antibiotic as appropriate is helpful if this fails and dermatologists have the big guns. Crater-type scars are easier to treat than "ice-pick" type scarring.  Sometimes use of laser or peels help.

Do  NOT Squeeze: Don't sqeeze the pimple.  Often best to draw the pimple with moist warm compresses to get it to come to a "head".  Squeezing is not good, and may spread the infected area, plus lead to permanent scarring.  If large, should see a local md or dermatologist to do the draining or provide antibiotic coverage to help resolve.
