: With today's low hormone levels in oral bcp, there are fewer disqualifying issues to prevent use. At "38" years, with aging eggs requiring more stimulation to ovulate, estrogen levels achieved are higher, so suppression of ovarian hormone activity may assist. Check with your GYN provider for your particular case with regard to exclusionary factors for low dose oral bcp's.

Not currently: Not currently. There is some discussion about supplying them OTC. In the meantime, you can go to the health department and get birth control.

Alopecia: This is usually a fungal infection or a thyroid disease.  This means that you will not get help from the internet, but need to see a physician in person for an examination and blood testing.

: Irregular periods following discontinuation of hormonal birth control is very common. It reflects your body's efforts to recalibrate hormones back to normal levels. It can take up to 6 months to resume normal cycles. Unless you are trying to get pregnant, use an alternative method of birth control every time you have intercourse. If the irregularity persists past 6 months, see your Gynecologist.

Drug interactions : Reviewed medical database and was unable to find any evidence of significant drug interactions between formulations of cysteine and birth control pills.  Would recommend still to consult with prescribing physician as well.

Dr. or ER can check: Heavy and prolonged menstrual bleeding may need medication to stop it, to avoid too much blood loss. One's primary care doctor can help. An exam is usually needed, but if a teen has no risk of sexually transmitted diseases, then an internal vaginal exam may not be necessary. Sometimes, one's doctor will refer to an Ob-Gyn doctor to evaluate for medication (pills) treatment.

NO: There are no known interactions between glutathione and any medications.

will birth control pills work for men?

Accepted Answer

Not as well: Studies are ongoing to develop a pill to supress sperm production in men.  Preventing one ovulation a month appears to be much easier than preventing the formation of hundreds of millions of sperm cells over the same period.  I don't think men are going to be quite as motivated to take the pill every day as women are.
