about a week ago, my breasts started hurting, and i have been feeling sick in the evening with tender breasts. not pregnant. any ideas?

Fibrocystic changes: You could have fibrocystic changes. This is the most common cause of breast pain.  It can be aggravated by caffeine, stress, menstrual cycle and hormonal supplements. If you are over 40, then you should have a mammogram and ultrasound.  Please get evaluated by a breast specialist.

Mastitis/mastalgia: This could be a breast infectiom ( mastitis) caising pain ( mastalgia ). This condition must be promptly treated with an examination, breast ultasound and certainly antibiotics. Consult your private physician asap.

Although it: is most likely that you aren't pregnant - even tubal ligations are not 100% effective. Reasons for late period include: an ovulatory cycle in which no egg is released, marked ^ in weight; eating disorder; over-exercising (endurance athletics), stress, travel, significant illnesses, oral contraceptives &amp; other meds, illegal drug use, breast feeding, hormone imbalances, pregnancy, etc.

Breasts: The fact that you had a D and C should not interfere with you having a successful  pregnancy  .  Breast tenderness can occur why not pregnant due to hormone change

Ovulation: if your last shot was in July, then its effects have likely worn awayand you are certainly at risk of pregnancy, so I would get tested first. If you are not pregnant then this pain that you are feeling could be related to ovulation. It's unclear to me if you have a ruptured cyst or a cyst that is twisted. Seeing a gynecologist and getting an exam and an ultrasound would help.
