OK: Have a talk with your doc about what acne is. By putting an oil on yr skin you are just blocking the oil glands on yr skin so I would expect it to indeed get worse. There are OTC preps with benzoyl peroxide (5% or 10%) which can help a lot. There are other meds by scrip. Good web sites are www.mayoclinic.com and www.johnshopkins.com

Soap & water: Why do people insist on applying things to cuts and scrapes? All you should do is clean it thoroughly with soap and water, and cover it with a clean bandaid. Change the bandaid daily; cuts heal faster when they are covered.

Tea tree oil: Some people may be allergic to tea tree oil.  You can get a contact dermatitis if you are allergic.  I would do a test spot on your inner arm and see if you get a rash.  If you do, dont use it on your face.

Otc compound-w can be quite effective as well, if used appropriately. If these measures not adequate, consult your doc..As there are many treatment available. Good luck.
