IBS: It could be true, but the best way in which to find out would to be seen and evaluated by a gastroenterologist. You might also try eating three cups of unpasteurized yogurt each day. There is data to suggest a wonderful effect on IBS.

post gallbladder surgery 6 months ago; can't gain weight back, have dark green stool all the time, low back/stomach pain...egd/colon neg. any ideas?

S/p gallbladder: Post- cholecystectomy syndrome   affects 5-40% of the population.

For diarrhea can use Questran ,cholestyramine a bile acid sequestrant. . Avoid fatty foods. Consider breath test to evaluate for bacterial overgrowth and  amylase/ lipase  to check pancreas function. Discuss nerve/ sphincter of oddi / retained stone issues w/ GI doc

Dehydration: You should worry about dehydration if vomiting and loose stool has been going on for days! might be a virus but dehydration is a common complication. If you haven't been able to keep liquids down and/or noticing that you are urinating less frequently than usual, might be time to see a doctor.

Consider what you ate in the last few days, but if greenish color is unusual for you &amp; persists or is accompanied by other symptoms, see your doctor.

Stool Color: Stool color is not important unless there is no color at all or it is bloody.  Melena which is black sticky foul smelly stool signifies blood as well and is important. Otherwise green, brown, orange or shades thereof don't mean anything.
