Hmmm: Could be.  But, the main symptoms of depression are sadness & inability to enjoy life, which you did not describe.  Sounds more like you are disappointed in people and that has made you mad &  bitter.  Freud once said something like ... It is not surprising that people act like animals (since we are animals).  It's surprising when we don't (i.e., when we are civilized, kind & generous).

Anxiety: Anxiety and depression can certainly be seen in the same individual. The part of the brain responsible for causing depression can also lead to anxiety. The same neurotransmitters are involved in both systems so we often times see both of these conditions in the same person.

Possibly: Difficulty concentrating can indeed be one of the symptoms of depression, but other things can cause this also.  Such as, anxiety disorders, attention deficit disorders, and some psychotic disorders.  Substance abuse and/or dependence can lead to difficulty concentrating as well.  Best bet would be to consult a psychiatrist for thorough evaluation.

The person may also have problems functioning at work or school. If they have the majority of these symptoms they may have depression.

If you think you are depressed please see your doctor for treatment.  Meds, exercise and counseling can all help.

NOT useless: A therapist would be USEFUL to you if you're frequently thinking of death.  Yes, this could be symptoms of depression.  Please talk to your parents, a therapist, your doctor, a school counselor, a pastor, etc.  Help is available.

The symptoms seen in depression include loss of interest, sleep problems, guilt, loss of energy, poor concentration, sadness, and thoughts of death.
