Vaginal swelling : Would f/u with MD may be yeast infection or  include swollen infected Bartholin gland which may need lancing or other infection.( never had herpes in past? ). Used any new products? as may be allergic reaction.  f/u/ w/ gyn

Inner labial pain: Generalized redness and swelling here can be due to minor irritation from tight clothing, feminine care products or a mild yeast infection.  Wear comfortable cotton panties and don't use perfumed products near the area.  If there is a whitish discharge, it is safe to apply an OTC yeast treatment for a few days.  Localized swelling that worsens or drains pus must be checked by a doctor promptly.

You should see a doc: It could be an infection that is bacterial, even an std, or an irritation from something that would be treated entirely differently. That area is so sensitive you should not wait but call your doc right away for an appointment as you need to be seen. At home try cool cloths that might be soothing.

By itself it may not be anything, it could however be an early yeast infection ( typically an odor, drainage and itchy) or an obstructed Bartholin's cyst ( unilateral), vaginosis ( discomfort, redness), simple overgrowth, hernia, etc. Treatment will depend on identify g the cause.

Abscess: Sounds like you have an infection. These might need to be drained in the office and most of the time people have to take antibiotics for the abscess to resolve. You can try sitz bath 4-5 times a day to see if it would help it resolve.

If the bump is more inside the vagina then it can also be a Bartholin's gland cyst versus abscess.

Yeast or other: A yeast infection is the most likely cause and over the counter medications are available. Herpes infections can cause similar symptoms. Allergic reactions also. An examination will confirm.

Infected labia cyst: Labia cysts do not frequently prove to be harmful, other than a mild discomfort in some cases. However, in few cases they can grow into tumors, which must be checked regularly. In case a cyst becomes problematic, surgery is the only option.
For an infected cyst, your doctor will prescribe appropriate antibiotics.

It will heal itself: Any trauma/injury to skin takes 3-5 days to heal. You can use some warm water compresses to soothe the pain and swelling. Take a couple of tylenols (acetaminophen) if you need pain relief.
