Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.

The doctor will also check to see if the person's past medical disorders are causing the new symptoms.

Unusual: the neuropathies from disc may cause pain or weakness anywhere down the nerve path.
BUT swelling is not the usual?
Thoracic outlet with nerve and venous compassion and thrombosis in the arms BUT that leaves the leg swelling ??
Needs good pcp visit with full history and physical examination

Possible hives: you may be having a reaction to something.  Follow up with your doctor to have him or her check your rash.  It is difficult to diagnose a rash without seeing it in person. You can try Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for the itching if you are not allergic to it.

See a doctor: You need to be evaluated at a doctor's office. If you cannot swallow, you can choke or become dehydrated. Without more information or an exam, it is hard to guess what the swelling is from, so please go talk to a doctor today.

Are : Are you having any swelling in the arms or legs?  If so, that might suggest a blockage in the veins.

People who exercise vigorously can sometimes develop blockages in the veins that drain the arms.  This is caused by squeezing of the viens in the neck by highly developed muscles.  The condition goes by several names, but pagett-schroetter is the most well-known.

This condition does not affect the legs, so would not explain those vessels' being enlarged.

Without a physical exam, it's hard to know what's going on. If by now (four days after you asked the question) you are still having issues, it would probably be a good idea to visit your doctor and have him or her give you a quick check.

Its possible: That if she had a general anesthetic for this, and succinylcoline was used that she may be having some muscle pain from the medication. This is normal and should resolve in a day or so. If not contact the surgery center where it was done to follow up.
