However hitting your head hard can do some other things that aren't good. A more likely effect would be a concussion, which can have neurological effects on you. Less likely, but a hard hit could potentially cause a bleed in your brain, & this could have stroke-like effects.

Indirectly: Some head trauma may cause blood on the surface of the brain called subdural or epidural hematoma. If large enough, this blood can cause mass affect that can lead to stroke.

Facial sag: When you have a stroke there is damage to brain tissue which controls various nerves. If the nerves to the facial muscles are involved in the stroke, then the face may sag because of the facial nerve being interfered with.

Usually stroke is an acute condition, to be taken care of in an emergency setting. If the symptoms are going on for some time days-weeks, consult your doctor and have it evaluated.

See your doc : An exam will be needed as a bleed needs to be ruled out. Specifically a subdural hematoma that will create the premises for further falls will need to be ruled out. Circumstances of the fall will be also critical in trying to avoid future falls.

Facial muscles: The stroke may affect unilateral arm and leg strength, and could also affect function over the face, causing poor facial nerve function of a central type, which causes the lower face to sag secondary to weakness.

Accepted Answer

Yes, it is possible: Possibly a trauma caused a blood vessel in the head to tear. This can result in closing the vessel, causing a stroke. The process is called a dissection. 

Also, a bleed in the head (like a subdural hematoma) can cause symptoms that look like a stroke.

These are all quite serious and need to be evaluated by a physician.

You may need an mra to sort this out.

Headache: Check your blood pressure and make sure your blood pressure is not elevated and causing a headache.  Otherwise it may be a tension headache,  or if you have had migraines or cluster headaches on that side it may be related to that.

Sure wish it could: Stroke is like a heart attack, but it affects brain.  It is indeed a medical emergency, but early rapid treatment with tpa (alteplase) or catheter balloon or extraction can often reverse and stop the potential damage.  So, if you or relations have stroke-like issues have this handled at the nearest hospital.
