Back pain: All infections (virus, bacterial, fungal...) can cause symptoms of low back pain.  Usually these are thought to be myalgias or muscle related pains.  There is some intriguing research about bacterial infections being causative for certain chronic low back pain conditions.

just been informed i have haem strep b in urine and i've to be started on amoxicillin! is it normal to have associated lower back pain?

Back pain &amp; UTI?: Back pain may occur with a UTI.  The medicine amoxicillin should not cause this as a side effect.

Back pain that changes with positioning of your back may be caused by muscle or spine processes also.

Upper UTI: It is possible that right kidney is involved. Contact to your prescriber if you feel did not get any better by now.

Not usually related: They aren't usually related but if your strep throat is a secondary infection from a generalized viral infection you might have muscle aches including in the low back. You should probably go see your doctor for this if you haven't already.

See below: Group a strep can be a great mascarader and can present with a lot of strange symptoms.  I have cared for kids with strep who present with severe muscle aches.  Therefore, i would say, it is possible (along with a sore throat).  I would get checked.

Doubtful: I would suggest exam, history and urine/pelvic testing to look for an infection

Strain: Strain is most likely problem. See pcp or ortho and consider physical therapy if approved by physician.

Strep throat: I am not certain why you are taking that particular anabiotic for strep throat. It is not first-line therapy. Perhaps there are other reasons that it was prescribed, of which I am not aware. Certainly muscle aches and pains can be associated with that type of antibiotic. My advice would be to call your doctor and advise of the symptoms and consider switching antibiotics.

10 days keflex for strep b group uti, still symtomatic and lukocytes in urine (bladder pressure/freq urinate/back pain), now on cipro, (ciprofloxacin) what's going on?

Cystitis: You need to see a urologist and be fully evaluated.  Sounds as if you may have upper urinary tract infection, in which case evaluation for some anatomic abnormality may be warranted, along with a careful assessment of the antibiotic therapy.  Grp b strep should be quite sensitive to penicillin derivatives.  Keflex levels may not be sufficient to deal with this. See a urologist.

i saw a doctor yesterday and was diagnosed with pharyngitis. still waiting for strep throat culture to come back. pain is worst. can hardly swallow.?

Can be other things.: Strep is not the only cause of pharyngitis.  Herpes simplex, chlamydia, ebv, corynebacterium diptheriae, and many others can also cause it.  That is one reason why the strep check swab is done, as well as a strep culture.  Your doctor should be able to do this/should have done this rapid check so you can start treatment if positive.  See your doctor soon if it gets worse for empiric treatment.
