Constipation: Constipation is very common in pregnancy. The more you strain the more likely you are to get hemorrhoids. You should aim to have at least 1 soft bowel movement almost every day.

It is not unusual.: The uterus is so large that it pushes on the rectum and bladder causing frequency of urination and bowel movements. The shortness of breath, barring any pulmonary causes also is expected because the gravid uterus presses on the diaphragm.

Frequent bms: Yes, a woman can have excessive bowel movements, especially during the first trimester. Hormones  like Progesterone are the likely cause.

Burping is common.: Classic pregnancy sxs begin when period is missed or thereafter (6-8 wks).  Sx’s can include: tender /swollen breasts, nausea or vomiting; lack of period; ^ frequency of urination; headaches, insomnia, fatigue. Moodiness, mild cramping, food cravings ; aversions; passing gas; enlarging waist line ; ^ white, milky vaginal discharge. Constipation can occur. Take pregnancy test to know.

Yes: Yes, multiple GI complaints are common.  Extreme hormone elevations are the norm for early pregnancy and almost anything goes.  Not to worry, with time much of this will dissipate.  Hang in there.

Normal: Bowel irregularity in the last trimester of pregnancy is very common.  Your baby's growth pushes on your intestines and can cause both constipation and diarrea,  nothing needs to be done about this.

Here are some...: Changing pattern in BM is not directly related with pregnancy; voiding change will. Worrying about pregnancy, do home pregnancy test ASAP in a week after missing the expected period and repeat it in another week if the first test is (-) &amp; still in doubt. Some : Some mucus in your stool can be normal since it's what your intestines make to stay lubricated.  Larger amounts of mucus - especially when paired with fever, abdominal pain, cramping and diarrhea - can signal an infection.  If you are noticing a change in your bowel habits or are having any of the above symptoms, you should call your doctor.  They may want to see you sooner than your scheduled appointment.
