Also, recreational drugs and withdrawal from alcohol can induce them.  Another cause is reliving traumatic experiences  in sleep.  Treatment and hope are possible.

Write out plans: On one central dream. Write out a road MAP what it would take to making that dream come true, include time allowed for each step.  Adjust the time as necessary. Having a focused dream is the way to live. Allow yourself to dream dreams all around that central dream, and then make all your dreams come true. Note, some meds make dreams vivid.

Ideas: So there are a lot of theories about the content of dreams.  You have to figure out the difference between "bad dreams/nightmares/terrors" etc.  This helps.  Dream recall can be helpful and documentation of these dreams since they often recur in various modes of issue not dealt with.  They tend to occur more often if you don't get adequate amount of sleep or with alcohol/medications.
